Yesterday we had a Girls Night. There were six of us (my sisters, ex sister-in-law and 2 nieces – ages 16 and 24). We went out for dinner and then back to one sister’s to watch a movie. It was really fun. We relaxed, acted fairly silly and my nieces and one sister flirted outrageously with the waiters. It was a fabulous way to end the work week.
Although this may not seem very exciting to you, it was a big deal for me. Having lived in an isolated small town for 3 years, far from family, being able to have a girl’s night like this is special. I had taken living close to friends and family for granted until suddenly we didn’t anymore. We’ve been living here for 7 months now and I’m truly appreciative of the time I get to spend with family and friends. It’s really special. And fun!
